The aim of this project is to identify and compare changes in inflammatory proteins and profiles across distinct SEP trajectories, examining their mediating role in health. Notably, we will employ multiple SEP indicators as proxies for socioeconomic conditions across different stages of the life course. Moreover, as social gradients are evident across many health outcomes, our concern lies in understanding the indirect pathways through underlying biological mechanisms. AIRWAVE will be an important contributor to the work due to several advantages including midlife age range, well-defined occupational information related to social and economic status, and numerous validated instruments for assessing mental health and health behaviours
