Cancer is not always diagnosed at the same time of year. People may be less likely to visit their GP during holidays or winter, and health services can be busier or harder to access. This can mean some cancers are found later than they should be. This study will look at whether cancer diagnoses in the UK go up or down at different times of the year. We will use secure health and population data to see if patterns vary by type of cancer, age, sex, or where people live. What we find could help the NHS plan services better and diagnose cancer earlier.
